Daejeon: where Korea researches, not where it fills bottles
Daejeon is Korea’s “Silicon Valley of biotechnology”, home to the country’s major research institutes, above all KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology), one of Asia’s leading technical universities. It is exactly here that VIRTA-MED KOREA had the stabilised form of 5-aminolevulinic acid developed, the basis of the ALA FACTOR line. And the biochemistry behind JeuDérm is the responsibility of a KAIST-trained scientist: Dr. Jo Su-Yeon, previously in research at Samsung SDI.[6]

ACNOTIDE: the peptide nobody else has
Conventional anti-blemish care works with acids, alcohol or aggressive antimicrobials. ACNOCELL takes a different route, and that is only possible because VIRTA-MED KOREA developed the active itself.
Proprietary active
ACNOTIDE is a granulysin-like peptide, modelled on the skin’s own defence system: biomimetic instead of chemically aggressive.
Mechanism
It acts physically on the bacterial membrane (membrane disruption, osmotic lysis) and is effective against gram-positive and gram-negative germs, including C. acnes.
No resistance risk
Because the action is physical, bacteria develop practically no resistance, which makes it suitable for continuous and maintenance care.
Tiny effective concentration
The peptide is already effective at 50 ppm, so the formula can remain gentle, barrier-friendly and microbiome-sparing.

Korean study (Lim HS et al., International Journal of Dermatology 2015): 20 granulysin peptides were synthesised and compared in the laboratory; the most effective was tested on 30 subjects with blemished facial skin: 12 weeks, twice daily, 50 ppm peptide. Result: a significant reduction of pustules across all severity grades. Involved: Chungnam National University and Hannam University (both Daejeon), Chonnam National University Medical School and UCLA.[4]
