The first step that stays on the skin, and thus the first real active step. Niacinamide is in position 4 of only 26 positions, the shortest list of the line. No ethyl alcohol, although that would be the rule for toners for oily skin.

Not a pure water toner: hydrogenated lecithin and olive esters form a light emulsion system. That is why it is massaged in rather than wiped off, and it lays the foundation for the gel.
